NONWOVEN

NONWOVEN

In modern baby diapers, fem care and incontinence products, various spun-bonded and staple fibre nonwovens are used, each of which must fulfil different functions. The finishes are mainly applied to top sheets (uppermost surface layer) and to the ADL absorption layer (Acquisition Distribution Layer). The functions of these layers ultimately determine the criteria that are relevant for the nonwoven material – and consequently for the finishing process. The key requirements are, for example: Good hydrophilic properties for fast liquid transport Low rewetting levels (wetback) Uniform wetting properties for kiss roll application at a high production speed
